Dr. Stephen C. Trainer

Founder

Stephen founded the Graffiti Ministries Learning Center in Brooklyn in 2015, and has been helping adult learners prepare for the GED, grow in literacy, and take steps toward lasting life change ever since. With over two decades of experience in ministry and education, Stephen is committed to serving under-resourced communities and believes that transformation begins by meeting people where they are.

He holds degrees in organizational leadership, public administration, and education. He is known for his relational approach and dedication to learners who are often left behind by traditional systems. In addition to his work in the classroom, Stephen is a frequent public speaker, sharing insights on adult education, urban ministry, and faith-based community development. He also serves as a missionary with Graffiti Ministries, where he combines faith, education, and practical service.

When not teaching or speaking, Stephen can be found reading widely, cheering on local schools, or spending time with his wife and children in New York City.
